In light of the impending privatization of Ethio-telecom, which is currently state run, Ethiopia has appointed a privatization adviser.

According to Reuters, Ethiopia is still looking to appoint another adviser to oversee the licensing of other telecom firms seeking to enter the Ethiopian market.

Eyob Tolina, Ethiopia’s Finance Minister, said that KPMG was selected to guide the privatization process.

While the government will own an undisclosed stake in the firm, however it is clear that it will still be the majority stakeholder.
