The company presently has a total staff strength of 1,900 employees and they hope to increase the numbers to 9,000 in the next three years. With over 400,000 metric tonnes production capacity, Erisco Foods Ltd is setting the pace for Tomato paste production in Nigeria.
Erisco Foods Ltd(formerly called Erisco Food Processing Ltd) was incorporated in 2004 as a local manufacturer of food products in Nigeria. Asides Tomato paste production, they are also into the production of sugar, salt, rice, seasoning and beverages.
With the recent fall of the Naira in the parallel market to over N345 to a dollar, importation has been gradually discouraged which has led to the rise of other local manufacturing companies like Innoson and other exporting companies. This is definitely a great step for Nigeria who is an import dependent country.
