Cherie Blair Foundation, Exxonmobil Foundation, the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan Atlantic University and Emerging360 have come together to help Women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. They have set up an initiative called the Road to Women’s Business Growth Initiative.
This initiative is collaborative venture designed to build the business skills and financial literacy of women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Launched in 2014, this project aims to support women owners of small businesses to grow their enterprises and increase their access to finance. The project will be delivered via an innovative ‘blended learning approach’, which combines in-class training with a unique, custom-built online learning tool. The in-class training will enable women to benefit from networking opportunities and peer-to-peer learning, whilst the e-modules will be easily accessible via tablets, allowing women to learn ‘on demand’ and ‘on the go’.
The project will train 500 women owners of small businesses in financial literacy and investment readiness over six weeks. One hundred of these women entrepreneurs will then receive intensive business support in the form of tailored business training and services and ongoing mentoring over six months.
