Endeavor Kenya, the East African chapter of the global Endeavor organization, has introduced the first batch of nine startups for its ScaleUp programme. This programme is intended to assist rapidly expanding startup companies by providing the resources and network required for their scaling journey.
Endeavor is known for fostering prosperous entrepreneurship ecosystems around the world, especially in developing and under-serviced markets. It achieves this by aiding entrepreneurs to scale up quickly, resulting in a beneficial multiplier impact.
The ScaleUp programme intends to equip local startups with the tools needed for expansion by offering expert mentorship, comprehensive business development training, fundraising backing, and a robust peer network of impactful entrepreneurs who have established and operated successful businesses.
The nine Kenyan startups selected for the programme’s inaugural edition will undergo a 6-12 month long journey, receiving intensive one-on-one mentoring sessions with entrepreneurs and mentors from the Endeavor Kenya network.
The selected startups include Nakama-Tech, ZenDawa, African Management Initiative (AMI), Senga, Dial Afrika, Satao, BuuPass, Pezesha, and Shega, each one offering unique solutions for various business sectors such as customer satisfaction, pharmacy industry, logistics and supply chain, commercial bakeries, digital transport marketplace and curated data intelligence.
Endeavor Kenya’s managing director, Maryanne Ochola, stated that the ScaleUp programme aims to propel the selected startups to become the future Endeavor entrepreneurs. She added that the initiative is vital for companies at the growth stage, offering them access to targeted training and development opportunities, innovative technology, leadership skills and business strategies, all facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs.
