Nigerian-American Uzo Aduba won an Emmy for “best supporting actress in a drama” for her work as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black at the Emmy 2015 awards.
This is the second time for her as she previously won an Emmy in 2014 for the same role.
Uzo Aduba was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Nigerian parents of Igbo origin. Aduba first garnered recognition for her acting in 2003, when her performance in Translations of Xhosa at the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts earned her a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play.
