After holding off on Twitter Blue Verified relaunch, Elon Musk has tweeted that the Twitter verification feature will be tentatively launched on Friday, 2nd of December. It had to be suspended initially because of a “high level of impersonation.”
He states that there will be three checks this time – a gold check for companies, grey check for government and the blue check for individuals. He adds that individuals that have blue checks, can have secondary tiny logo showing they belong to an organisation if verified as such by that organisation.
Not sure if this date would hold as there are still many questions about the twitter verification feature and its implementation.
However Elon says that all verified accounts would be manually authenticated. he admits that this is painful but necessary in light of the possibility of having fake accounts
In order to reduce the number of fake accounts or spam, Twitter changed its terms so that newly created accounts have to wait 90 days before they can buy a Twitter Blue subscription
We await the details of the Twitter verification feature next week
