Elon Musk challenges Twitter CEO to a public debate about bots

It seems that Elon Musk is not ready to wait for the court to decide the fate of his withdrawal to buy Twitter. The sensational tech billionaire want to take the fight to the streets. He wants the public to decide.

He made this known in a tweet to his 102.8 million followers; saying he is challenging the Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal, to a public debate about the Twitter bot percentage.

I hereby challenge @paraga to a public debate about the Twitter bot percentage.

Let him prove to the public that Twitter has <5% fake or spam daily users!

Musk says he wants Agrawal to prove to the public that Twitter has <5% fake or spam daily users. After pinning the tweet to his Twitter profile, he polled his followers to choose whether they believed less than 5% of twitter daily users were fake/spam.

Less than 5% of Twitter daily users are fake/spam

As at the time of this report, 64.9% of the respondents picked the “Lmaooo no” option

Elon Musk is clearly trying to sway people to his side with this poll but am not sure it will have any effect on the court hearing which comes up in a couple of months.

Elon Musk officially announced in July that he was pulling out of the $44 billion agreement to buy Twitter because of the fact that he believed that more than 5% of Twitter daily users were fake.

Even when Parag tried to explain the company’s position in a counter-argument, Elon Musk did not agree.

When he said he was pulling out, Twitter took him to court. The trial will take place in October 2022
