Entlaq, an Egyptian entrepreneurial think tank, has joined forces with Savannah, a Sudanese incubator, to empower Sudanese migrant and refugee entrepreneurs in Egypt. Entlaq is dedicated to transforming Egypt’s entrepreneurial landscape, while Savannah stands out as a key incubator and consultancy firm with a mission to unleash the potential of Sudan’s burgeoning startup scene.
This collaboration is designed to assist migrant and refugee entrepreneurs in integrating their ventures into Egypt’s formal economy by providing a robust support system, including training and advocacy initiatives. The partnership lays the groundwork for various programs aimed at improving the socio-economic standing of Sudanese migrants and refugees with entrepreneurial ambitions in Egypt.
The initiative will offer an incubation program featuring workshops, training modules, and mentorship opportunities tailored to endow entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and insights for business success. Business clinics will also be available to help entrepreneurs tackle various challenges, while legal and financial consulting services will assist them in formalizing and expanding their enterprises.
Yousif Yahya, the founder and managing director of Savannah Innovation Labs, commented on the collaboration;
The historical ties between Egypt and Sudan are deeply rooted, and this partnership between Entlaq and Savannah represents a continuation of this strong bond. It opens a new chapter for collaboration, setting the stage for a thriving future for both nations.
He further added;
Together, we are committed to ensuring that Sudanese youth and businesses establishing themselves in Egypt are well-equipped to navigate the Egyptian entrepreneurial environment. This will add value to their new host community while also providing them with the competencies to flourish, whether as entrepreneurs or in professional roles across various industries. This partnership is a testament to our shared dedication to empowerment, growth, and the boundless potential of our communities.
