Cairo-based fashion e-commerce startup, DressCode, announced that it has received $250,000 in funding from an existing investor, Egypt Ventures.
The lifestyle startup says it intends to expand its scope beyond fashion and cosmetics, namely vitalizing its home décor offerings.
Since Dresscode’s launch in 2019, the startup claims it has fulfilled 30,000 orders, and amassed a dedicated following of customers, and an increase in its SKU’s with a leap from 300 to 6000 within a year.
The startup builds on the local resources available in Egypt, using 35 local workshops and the inherent talents of 1,400 employees. On top of being an aggregator of various brands, DressCode also has its own product line which is 75% of the offerings on the site.
“DressCode has the potential to make an impact on the Egyptian market,” said Ahmed Gomaa, Chairman and CEO of Egypt Ventures. “Through combining a scalable, agile business model and partnering with local workshop all over Egypt.”
