Egypt-based beauty service booking platform, Glamera, has raised USD 250,000 from an anonymous Saudi investor.
The startup raised the funds to gear up its expansion efforts within Egypt and into other markets.
Glamers users are able to make appointments with any of more than 200 contracted providers. These include, salons, clinics, spa, gym, and dental.
Within its first month in operation, the startup facilitated over 1000 bookings, from a staggering 200,000 downloads.
This is a massive feat seeing as it is only available in select regions of Egypt’s capital: Nasr City, Sheraton, Al-Nozha, and Heliopolis.
Glamera CEO, Mohamad Hassam said the funding was Stage One of what he described as a “clear and ongoing financing plan” towards the startup’s goals.
He said, “The vision is to direct women to beauty through an easy, intelligent and interactive mobile application with a wide geographical coverage.”
Glamera will add more features to the application in a bid to increase its customer-base by 2020.
The company also expects to expand within Cairo within the next couple of weeks, and into six countries by early 2020.
