TIME Magazine has just announced that the Ebola Fighters as the choice for Person of the year 2014. They beat the other finalists which included Russian President Vladimir Putin, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Artist Taylor Swift, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and President of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq Massoud Barzani.
Time’s managing editor Nancy Gibbs revealed the winner on NBC’s “Today” Wednesday morning. in her discussion with Matt Lauer, she said “These men and women did the hard and dangerous work in treating patients and protecting the rest of us.” She also praised the fighters for demonstrating an “exceptionally great amount of courage and kindness and bravery.”
