Easy Taxi, the world’s largest taxi booking app, has introduced new features to support a fully integrated user experience with the most recent version of its app. The move is the latest from the global taxi booking company as the app wars go beyond the physical taxi space.
“The new version of Easy Taxi is a testament to our commitment to further improve the product, ensuring a fast and easy taxi booking experience to our users,” said Dennis Wang, Founder and Co-CEO of Easy Taxi.“
While technology remains a key factor in a very competitive marketplace, Easy Taxi passengers will still experience the best service levels in the industry. “We have a great product and we are constantly evolving to meet the demands of a mobile lifestyle.” added Mr Wang
Easy Taxi V3 comes equipped with an improved GPS algorithm for a more accurate pick up location and faster booking process. The new and more dynamic interface also saves previous locations and destinations, enabling passengers to quickly select these based on history. The app also provides a detailed summary and payment information at the end of the ride.
The upgrades comes in the heels of other key initiatives such as ET PRO, a new feature for bars, hotels and restaurants to call up to four taxis at one time to serve its customers. The company also recently announced additional USD $40 million in Series D funding from new investors Tengelmann Ventures and Phenomen Ventures. According to Wang, this will enable the company to advance its technology and continue its growth trajectory in Asia and Latin America.
Since then, Easy Taxi has further expanded its network to over 300,000 drivers around the world. The app is not only available in Nigeria, but also in 170 cities across 33 countries in four continents. It can be downloaded on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices. Passengers can then use the app to book their rides in any of these partner cities globally.
