    Early Stage Entrepreneurs Can Apply for the She Leads Africa Dark and Lovely Beauty Accelerator Programme 2018

    Early stage startups in the African beauty industry can now apply for the 2018 She Leads Africa Dark and Lovely Beauty Accelerator.

    The Dark and Lovely x SLA Beauty Accelerator is a 10 week entrepreneurship development program to support early stage entrepreneurs who are building innovative businesses in the beauty industry.

    She Leads Africa is a media platform that helps young women achieve their professional dreams by providing expert advice, opportunities for networking and global growth opportunities. SLA reaches more than 500,000 women across 35+ countries and 5 continents and has been featured in the Financial Times, BBC, CNN, Forbes, CNBC Africa, Fast Company, Black Enterprise and Huffington Post. In December 2016, SLA was the first African startup to ring the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

    How the Programme works

        

     

       

     

    WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS SHOULD APPLY?

    She Leads Africa 2018 is looking for creative businesses all across the beauty industry such as:

    • Media: Platforms that make it easier for women to learn beauty techniques, discover new styles and connect with customers
    • Products: Physical products that enhance the beauty process.
    • Technology: Software and services that support the beauty industry.
    • Retail: Platforms that simplify the buying process for consumers.
    • And many more…..

     ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • Business must be based in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria or South Africa
    • Business with at least one female member on the founding team between the ages of 18 and 35.
    • Business that has received less than $50,000 in funding.
    • Business that is less than 3 years in operation.
    • Business that has already begun operations and has a live product on the market.
    • Entrepreneurs at the idea stage are not eligible to apply.

    Key Dates

    • Applications Open – Friday, 31 August, 2018
    • Applications Close –  Friday, 21 September, 2018 at 17:00 South African Time
