Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), a leading financial institution in East Africa, has joined forces with Network International, the region’s largest enabler of digital commerce, in a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating digital payment transformation in Kenya. This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing DTB’s digital capabilities and expanding its service offerings in the rapidly growing digital payments landscape.

The agreement, announced recently, will see Network International provide DTB with a robust processing platform for card hosting and issuance. This platform will enable DTB to offer a wider range of card products and services, including debit, credit, and prepaid cards, as well as e-commerce solutions. Customers can expect a smoother, more secure, and convenient experience when making digital payments.

The partnership comes at a time when Kenya is witnessing a surge in demand for digital payment solutions, driven by increasing internet penetration and mobile phone usage. Network International, with its advanced digital payment technologies and robust security protocols, is well-positioned to support DTB in meeting this growing demand.

Through this collaboration, DTB will gain access to Network International’s cutting-edge payment solutions, including fraud prevention tools, 3D Secure authentication, and card control solutions. These features will not only enhance the security of digital transactions but also provide customers with greater control and convenience over their finances.

Jamie Loden, Chief Operating Officer at DTB, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Network International marks a significant milestone in our efforts to expand our capabilities and elevate our services in a rapidly evolving digital environment.” He further emphasized the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion, stating that the partnership will help them “facilitate the inclusion of more citizens in the formal financial system.”

Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director – Processing, Africa & Co-Head Group Processing at Network International, also highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to partner with DTB to accelerate their digital payment transformation journey. Our advanced digital payment solutions and robust security protocols will enable DTB to offer their customers innovative and secure payment experiences.”

This strategic collaboration between DTB and Network International is expected to drive significant innovation in the Kenyan digital payments landscape. It will not only benefit DTB’s customers but also contribute to the overall growth and development of the digital economy in Kenya.
