The World Cup is now well underway, and former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba will surely be hoping to make an impact as the captain and all-time top goal scorer of the Ivory Coast national team. At the same time, Didier has brought his Drogba & Co. by HOM underwear range home to the Ivory Coast exclusively on www.jumia.ci, with 1€ from every sale going to the Didier Drogba Foundation.
Produced in partnership with the Marseille-based underwear brand HOM,Drogba &Co. by HOM combines HOM’s expertise and Drogba’s style. The range was created in collaboration with the renowned Ivorian couturier Elie Kuame and the collection is on sale in Africa for the first time exclusively on www.jumia.ci.
The range comprises T-shirts, tank tops, boxers and swimming trunks, both plain and in a multi-coloured print reflecting African colours.
Fatoumata Bâ, Managing Director of Jumia Ivory Coast commented on the partnership: “All the Jumia team is very proud of showing its commitment to supporting such great social initiatives at the crossroads of sport and social actions. This is a way for us to give back to the society while showing our support to Didier Drogba & Ivory Coast Elephants for the World Cup!”
The Didier Drogba Foundation (registered charity no.1135123) was created in 2007 with the aim of providing financial and material support for those in need in Africa. The Foundation has already built a large new medical clinic in Abidjan and supported the construction of orphanages in Ivory Coast, as well as future plans to build schools in his native country.
Whilst his sporting prowess has made him famous all over the world, Didier has always remained committed to supporting his native continent:in 2007, he was appointed as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, and in 2010 he was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World for his philanthropic work.
