Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s current Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has been appointed to the Digital Innovation Board of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The alliance was established to close the global digital innovation gap and assist ITU members in attaining an equitable digital future.
Dr. Bosun Tijani joins 17 other accomplished individuals on the board. All members have been personally nominated based on their demonstrated innovation success and will offer strategic guidance, expertise, and advocacy in support of the alliance’s objectives and vision.
The Alliance formed the Digital Innovation Board to offer strategic guidance, expertise, and advocacy concerning its aim of cultivating key local enablers and prompting innovation and entrepreneurship in digital development to establish a more inclusive and equitable digital future for everyone.
As the Alliance fast-tracks innovation capabilities and forms connections on national, regional, and global levels, the Board will advance the Alliance’s efforts on the global stage. It will lead dialogues on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in digital development with relevant stakeholders and prospective partners, which include UN agencies, governments, and the private sector.
The Director of the BDT will serve as one of the two Co-Chairs of the Digital Innovation Board, with the second Co-Chair to be appointed in the Board’s inaugural meeting.
