Donald Trump has been elected as the next President of the United States of America. He will now be the 45th President of the United States of America.
According to the AP, Trump won the race with 56,897,955 popular votes and 276 electoral votes, compared with 55,877,015 popular votes and 218 electoral votes for Clinton.
At his first speech after the results, he stated that he had received a congratulatory message from Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate.
He called on everyone to come together to build to a great nation.
One wonders what the Twitter handle @POTUS will be under Donald Trump. The current President, Barack Obama, was truly lively on Twitter and on Social networks.
The inauguration is scheduled for Friday 20 January 2017
