Dogecoin rises 30% as Elon Musk changes Twitter Bird Logo to Doge

Have you noticed that the Twitter Bird logo on the top left of your Twitter web page has changed to an image of a Shiba Inu, the logo of the Dogecoin?

Well I just noticed it when I checked my Twitter page. I first thought it might be a belated April Fool’s day joke but whatever is on the mind of Elon Musk, Twitter CEO, this has caused the Dogecoin price to soar 30% to $9 from below $8.

Musk referred to the logo change by tweeting a year old chat saying “as promised”. The chat is between Musk and a user who suggested that Musk “just buy Twitter” and “change the bird logo to a doge.”

According to Reuters, the doge logo appeared on the site two days after Musk asked a judge to throw out a $258 billion racketeering lawsuit accusing him of running a pyramid scheme to support the dogecoin. Elon Musk’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit Friday, arguing, “There is nothing unlawful about tweeting words of support for, or funny pictures about, a legitimate cryptocurrency.”

Created in 2013 by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, Dogecoin was intended to be used as a faster but “fun” alternative to bitcoin, but it has since found a growing community online.

The Dogecoin has enjoyed patronage and endorsement from the Twitter CEO for quite some time. In fact he has been responsible for rise of the crypto as the price increases after his comments.

Elon Musk also tweeted a meme cartoon shortly around 7.50 p.m. of a Shiba Inu showing an ID photo of the Twitter Bird to a police officer and informing the officer, “That’s an old photo.”

It is not quite clear if this logo change is permanent or temporary.

Straight talk. I tell it like it is. Obvious but elusive. I do love technology and marvel comics/films. No you can't see me. I am like "The Stig" in Top Gear or like Lagbaja. Now you see me, now you don't
