Nairobi, Kenya — East African impact investment firm DOB Equity has announced the appointment of Jonathan Mukoro as an Investment Associate, reinforcing its commitment to supporting high-potential businesses across the region.
Mukoro brings over seven years of experience in private equity and private lending, with a strong track record of working across key sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, financial services, and consumer goods. His appointment is expected to bolster DOB Equity’s capacity to identify, evaluate, and support impactful investments that drive inclusive economic growth in East Africa.
A Career Rooted in Regional Investment Expertise
Prior to joining DOB Equity, Mukoro served at AgDevCo, a specialist investor in African agribusinesses, where he played a central role in deploying capital into growth-stage companies across East Africa’s agricultural value chains. His work focused on structuring investments that not only delivered financial returns but also supported food security, job creation, and rural development.
Jonathan Mukoro also held investment roles at SIMA Funds, a global impact investment manager, and Centum Investment Company, one of East Africa’s leading investment firms. These roles gave him broad exposure to both equity and debt financing, as well as hands-on experience in evaluating businesses across diverse sectors and geographies.
Driving Growth and Value Creation at DOB Equity
In his new role at DOB Equity, Mukoro will be responsible for:
- Supporting existing portfolio companies, helping them scale operations, improve governance, and achieve long-term sustainability.
- Sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, with a focus on businesses that align with DOB Equity’s impact-driven mandate.
- Contributing to due diligence, deal structuring, and post-investment value creation, working closely with entrepreneurs and management teams.
His appointment comes at a time when DOB Equity is actively expanding its portfolio of early- and growth-stage businesses that deliver both financial returns and measurable social impact across East Africa.
