Disney+ has confirmed that it will be launching its service in South Africa in May 18 2022. It had announced in January this year that it would be launching in 42 additional countries and 11 territories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa this summer.
In a statement made available to Innovation Village, the Walt Disney group said the service will launch in the country and other territories on the 18th of May at R119 ($8.10) per month or R1,190 ($81) for an annual subscription.
The service is expected to launch with exclusive original content and thousands of episodes and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and general entertainment from Star.
“Disney+ offers access to high-quality viewing up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set Kids Profiles that have an easy-to-navigate, child-friendly interface to access age-appropriate content,” the group said.

- The Mandalorian
- Moon Knight
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings
- Luca
- Encanto
- Cruella
- The Simpsons
- The Kardashians
