Google is apparently working on a new project which is known as “Fuchsia” which was first revealed by the Hacker News site. The source code of Google’s latest operating system looks like all new code from the ground up.
Fuchsia is a project by two of Google’s engineers with experience in embedded systems. As of now, we have too many clues about the intended use of Fuchsia, and on its GItHub page there isn’t much to go with but just a somewhat cryptic message at the top, saying, “Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (a new Operating System).” And Google hasn’t confirmed what Fuchsia is for, or even that it’s an active project within the company but it’s got us thinking, could this be an Android replacement or should we expect something different from this new project but that hasn’t stopped the internet from talking and trying to figure out what it could be.
The Verge suggested it could be the long rumoured replacement for both Google’s Chrome and Android operating systems, and readers on Hacker News believe it could be the next version of Android, or for an as-yet-unreleased Google augmented reality device.
Whatever it’s for, if it’s for anything at all, we’ll have to wait and see but you can download Fuchsia here and if you can get it working, then that’s even better and do let us know.
