Microsoft has started rolling out its first build of Cortana for iOS but it’s only available to Beta testers at the moment. The digital assistant app is being distributed through Apple’s TestFlight which means testers are limited to just a few participants, since TestFlight releases are usually pretty limited to about 2,000 testers.
Earlier this month Microsoft put out a survey asking people that were interested in testing Cortana for iOS to register their details. And now some of those people are starting to receive emails with download instructions.
Cortana for iOS can answer your voice queries, as well as manage your schedule, reminders, and alarms. It is able to track things too, such as flights, stocks, packages, and sports scores. Though the app will be more limited than its Windows Phone and Android counterparts, thanks to the platform’s limitation, so hey Cortana, for example, won’t be supported.
No word on a public release date for the app, but Microsoft previously said it would be coming later this year. So, if you’re not among the lucky ones who’d get to test this app, guess you have no choice but to wait for its final release.
