The Corporate Affairs Commission launched the long-awaited online company registration portal last week. It is expected that this will significantly bring down cost of doing business in Nigeria.
According to the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, who commissioned the portal;
“The platform we are launching today is the single biggest reform in company’s registration within Nigeria in decades.
“The CAC company registration portal will position CAC as one of the biggest registration bodies in the world and will address a key constraint to starting and operating businesses in Nigeria. We will be introducing transparency and accountability because it will be easier to find out about companies and their directors.”
“It has been many months since this government envisioned the development of companies’ registration portal and finally we have achieved our objective today.”
This was an joint effort between the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment and Federal Ministry of Communications Technology under Government Service Portal initiative.
With the launch of this portal, you can now register your business without going physically to the CAC office. The portal also accepts most electronic cards including VISA, Verve card, American express and other forms of electronic payments.
Dr. Omobola Johnson, the Minister of Communication Technology, said the online registration would enable users to make payment services from the comfort of their homes.
