Covid-19 Business Rescue Assistance (COBRA) which consists of a consortium of enterprises that are united to use business as a force for good by assisting other companies to thrive in a challenging economy, to safeguard livelihoods, and ultimately to improve the social wellbeing of all South Africans has partnered with SMEgo to connect small and medium business owners (SMEs) with a wide range of funding options to keep their business afloat during the pandemic.
Adam Craker, CEO of IQbusiness comments on the partnership between SMEgo and COBRA.
“Finding a partner that shares our values and ideals has made such a difference to the COBRA initiative. Not only has this simplified the funding process for distressed businesses, but it also gives us access to a wider range of tools to ensure that businesses get the help they need to keep going.”
Benefits for SMEs
The partnership will offer the following benefits for South African business owners:
- COBRA will be able to refer businesses to the site and enable SMEs to apply for funding, using a single platform to complete this process. This allows SMEs to easily monitor the process and handle the administrative process seamlessly
- SMEgo will provide COBRA’s existing clients the ability to upload and save important business documents via the platform
- Weekly newsletters featuring the latest industry news will be easily accessible to SMEs.
Rowan Spazzoli, founding team member of SMEgo elaborates on the importance of the partnership and what it means for local SMEs.
“We’re very excited to be partnering with COBRA as our vision and mission align so closely. Finding support in the form of funding needs to be simplified to get SMMEs back on their feet. Running a business in these times is difficult enough, finding support should not be.”
The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance that SMEs play in the local economy and that its survival is critical to the economic and financial well-being of South Africa.
