Chinese cellular carrier China Mobile recently held an event discussing its upcoming plans for 2016 and what devices might show up on the carrier’s network, in which it hinted at an April 2016 release date for Apple’s rumored 4-inch iPhone, according to reports.
This would pan out with previous rumors, suggesting that Apple’s unannounced 4-inch iPhone could land in the early part of 2016. However, the report’s indication that the phone would be called the iPhone 6C since this device won’t be released with next year’s flagship.
Also, reports pointed to Apple hosting an event in March of 2016, which would be focused on the second-generation of the Apple Watch, and it’ll only make sense to see the announcement of a rumoured 4-inch iPhone, which could then launch in April.
In terms of specs, there is nothing solid yet, but previous rumors have suggested it could boast an aluminum frame just like the iPhone 5S, an A9 processor under the hood, and a 2.5D curved edge cover glass.
