Ever so often you come across an internet viral challenge that gets people talking. In 2014, it was the ALS Ice Bucket challenge where you even had top tech executives like Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos getting involved.
Now I don’t think these same executives may get involved in this new Bottle cap Challenge (#BottleCapChallenge) because of the athleticism required, but it is quite an interesting one.
The Bottle Cap Challenge involves unscrewing the top from a water bottle with a single roundhouse kick, and it got its start in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
It seems the challenge started in the world of Mixed Marital Arts (MMA). But it crossed over to the mainstream pop culture in a big way when designer Errolson Hugh and UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway (@blessedmma) challenged singer John Mayer @johnmayer last weekend.
And John Mayer challenged actor Jason Statham @jasonstatham.
Trust Jason to execute this in a very cool way with his Wing Chun kung fu, karate, and kickboxing skills.

Jason has handed over to director Guy Ritchie and retired MMA fighter James Moontasri, who haven’t yet posted video of their attempts.
