“Afghanistan is beautiful to us, we are glad to come all the way from Africa-Nigeria to make life better for the small holder farmer in Afghanistan,” says Bolaji Akinboro, co-founder of Cellulant Nigeria whose company’s eWallet technology will be deployed by the Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation & Livestock in Afghanistan, to setup a market-based input distribution technology.

Nigeria CommunicationsWeek reported that the tech will help to bolster Afghanistan’s drive for self-sufficiency in wheat production; the eWallet technology will help boost Afghanistan’s Agricultural sector in general.

Akinboro revealed that Afghanistan is the latest country to adopt Cellulant’s eWallet; others are Liberia and Togo.

The Agrikore technology gives small holder farmers access to agricultural inputs of improved varieties/breeds, fertilizer, and agro-chemicals, making it the backbone of increased productivity and profitability of value-added chains. This technology allows the best available seeds and fertilizer get into the hands of hundreds of thousands of small holder farmers to raise crop yields.

“Cellulant is driven to solve difficult problems on using payment technology. We will work with the Government of Afghanistan to get inputs to 1 million farmers in the next 90-120 days,” Akinboro said.

Good! I’m happy some people are busy doing things that will make foreigners start seeing us and our country in a new, better light. It’s a good one Afghanistan has partnered with Nigeria to help them in the area of agriculture, using our very own Cellulant eWallet.
