With 42.1 million of the 144.9 million smartphones shipped worldwide in Q1 2012, Samsung reclaimed the leadership position as no 1 smartphone brand in the world in terms of market share. Propelling this achievement was Samsung’s continued expansion of its Galaxy range of devices.
This growth in number of smartphones is reflected in huge growth in number of mobile apps downloaded worldwide, which grew at an accelerated rate of 56.6% last year and is set to reach 98 billion downloads by 2015. With most apps free to download, forecasters say the challenge for the industry and developers is to come up with ways to monetise their applications.
At Junes edition of Developers Parapo, a strong team from Samsung led by Jude Omozegie – Head, Product Marketing will share experiences and engage the tech community on strategies, models, pricing and best practices for monetising mobile content through Samsung platform. Come and learn first hand how content owners, providers and aggregators can partner with Samsung to maximise exposure and create remarkable value.
There will also be the opportunity to demo interesting adroid apps on the night with the best app winning an awesome prize from Samsung. If you are interested in demoing your app, email a short description of the app to info@cchubnigeria.com by 5pm on Wednesday 27th of June, 2012.
