Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) and Google for Startups have launched PitchDrive II which is an initiative that will select 10 African hardware and deep tech startups for a 14-day tour of five Asian cities.
The tour will start with a two-day bootcamp in Kigali, Rwanda. Thereafter, between 15 and 31 August, the 10 startups selected for the initiative will tour Singapore, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo.
The idea is that the initiative will create a platform for startups to: take key learnings from the Asian tech market and apply them locally to improve their businesses while being able to network and explore funding opportunities.
To be considered for the initiative, applicants must be based in Africa and must have legally-registered enterprises which can demonstrate a minimum of 12 months of revenue-generating operations. Startup founders or CEOs must also be available for the duration of the tour.
The 2017 edition of the PitchDrive initiative saw 14 African tech startups tour London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich and Paris.
Interested African hardware and deeptech startups have until 20 May to apply.
