As part of plans to enhance its digital payment offering, Fintech startup and digital bank, Carbon has teamed up with Network International, the leading enabler of digital commerce across Africa and the Middle East.
As part of the agreement, Network International will issue and process physical Visa debit cards on behalf of Carbon, enhancing the bank’s offering to customers.
The partnership will help drive financial inclusion among the unbanked and the underbanked, which aligns with Carbon’s mission of empowering all people with the financial access they need to pursue a life of dignity and prosperity.
In addition to payment services, Carbon also offers easily accessible loans, a fee-free, interest-earning wallet, high-yield savings, and easy-to-use tools for personal financial management.
Carbon will benefit from Network’s advanced, scalable and cost-effective digital infrastructure and robust security protocols, eliminating the need to invest in costly card management infrastructure.
In its bid to increase its payment products, Carbon launched its USSD services in 2020. Also, to increase the reach of its offerings, the Fintech startup launched Carbon Express which enables users access Carbon services from within any app they using. In June of 2021, Carbon partnered with payment giant, Visa, to issue debit cards to its customers.
