The 2019 Seedstars Douala ended in Cameroonian startup Digital Renter claiming the top spot and securing itself a chance to represent its country in Seedstars Africa Summit in Johannesburg later this year.
Digital Renter is a platform that helps its users advertise, search for and manage rentals.
This win will see the startup join a 3 month accelerator programme and attend the annual global seedstars summit, where they will get to compete for USD 500,000 in equity funding.
Fongoh Tayong, Digital Renter’s CEO has been at the helm of the startup for over two years.
In a statement, the CEO said he has interacted with multiple stakeholders, who have given Digital Renter deep market or field insight to validate its model of a totally inclusive, social and multi-agent system which works for the real-estate market in Africa.

The Cameroon edition of the pitch competition was held on the 11th of October, and saw 11 local startups compete for top spot.
In second place was Clinicplant, a web and mobile application that diagnoses crop and animal diseases from an image was placed second.
In third place, Vehseh, a management system that enables retail managers or owners to monitor sales remotely in real-time, was placed third.
