Premium auto brand Bugatti has unveiled a new automobile which is reinterpretation of the epochal EB110. It is the Bugatti Centodieci – Italian for 110.
The unveiling took place some hours ago at The Quail, a motorsports gathering. It costs 8 million Euros and only 10 of this beauty would be made. If you are thinking of getting one, sorry, all have been sold.
According to a Bugatti statement, “The EB110, built by Romano Artioli in Italy, was an important intermediate step for the refoundation of Bugatti in 1998 and for the return to the French roots in Molsheim.”
“Inspired by the historical model, the Centodieci pushes all boundaries of imagination with its breathtaking performance and pioneering design. Featuring a modern interpretation of the classic wedge shape and with the iconic W16 engine, the Centodieci transports the EB110 gracefully into a new millennium.”
Interestingly the last car made by Bugatti in March 2019, La Voiture Noire, sold for $19 million, including taxes. It was the most expensive car made Bugatti. Only one was made and it was sold to an owner whose name was never revealed.
The Bugatti Centodieci sports an 8.0 liter, 16-cylinder engine which produces 1,600 horsepower with a top speed of 236 mph. It is capable of going from 0 to 62 mph in 2.4 seconds. The car uses a lot of carbon fiber to reduce weight, driving down the power-to-weight ratio to just 2.5 pounds per horsepower.
The Volkswagen Group bought the Bugatti brand name in 1998 and built its modern production facility at Bugatti’s ancestral home in Molsheim, France.
Bugatti is also celebrating its 110th anniversary this year.
