    Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Jumia Donates 50% of Proceeds on Pink Store

    Throughout October JUMIA Kenya will donate 50% of proceeds made from purchases on its pink store to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This will contribute to the prevention, treatment and research of breast cancer.

    October is the month dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer across the globe. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime but with early detection early, patients have as much as a 98% survival rate.

    Commenting on the donations Parinaz Firozi MD Jumia Kenya said, “Education and early detection of breast cancer is the best way to increase the chances of a successfultreatment. Jumia is keen to raise awareness of the disease and the whole team is proud to support this good cause throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” Firozi encourages everyone to donate even directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.     Pink is the internationally recognized colour for breast cancer awareness. Wearing a Pink ribbon or cloth raises awareness of the disease and shows sympathy for people affected by breast cancer.Products in the Jumia pink store have been highly discounted to maximize opportunities to contribute to the fight against cancer.
