Blueroomcare secures $50K follow-on investment from EHA Impact Ventures

Blueroomcare, a Nigerian digital mental health startup, has received a fresh $50,000 follow-on investment from EHA Impact Ventures, reinforcing its mission to transform mental health care across the country. This latest funding round reflects growing confidence in Blueroomcare’s innovative hybrid care model, strong user engagement, and expanding reach.

Founded to address Nigeria’s escalating mental health challenges, Blueroomcare offers a tech-enabled platform that connects users—particularly young people and women—to licensed Nigerian therapists through secure online sessions. With over 20% of Nigerians affected by mental health conditions and fewer than 10% receiving adequate care, the startup aims to bridge this critical gap by making therapy more accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant.

The new investment builds on EHA Impact Ventures’ earlier support, which included a $50,000 pre-seed convertible loan and $30,000 in technical assistance provided in 2024. With this follow-on funding, EHA’s total commitment to Blueroomcare now exceeds $100,000, encompassing capital infusion, strategic advisory, and system development. The latest round is structured as a revenue-based convertible loan, offering flexibility as Blueroomcare scales its operations.

As part of the partnership, Blueroomcare has been integrated into the EHA Clinics ecosystem, enabling a hybrid care model where users can begin therapy online and continue in-person at clinics located in Lagos and Abuja. This approach aligns with user preferences—over 57% of surveyed clients expressed a desire for blended care, citing trust and continuity as key factors.

The new funding will be directed toward several strategic initiatives, including:

    • Expanding the therapist network to meet growing demand.
    • Enhancing the AI-powered matching system to improve therapist-client compatibility.
    • Extending outreach efforts to underserved communities, including slums, schools, and corporate HR departments.

Blueroomcare’s broader goal is to normalize mental health conversations and foster a culture of care rooted in accessibility, empathy, and relevance. By leveraging technology and community partnerships, the startup is positioning itself as a key player in reshaping mental health services in Nigeria.
