Blackberry officially launched the Blackberry Z3 into the Nigerian market on Thursday.
According to the Territory Director, East, West, Central and Southern Africa, Blackberry, Charles Asinugo, while unveiling the latest smartphone, the plan is to replace the very high-end Z10 with the Z3. With the Z3, the Canadian company is targeting the lower segment of the market.
“Z10 is at its end of life. In the next few months, you may not actually get to see Z10 in the market again because it is reaching its end of life. We thought that that by introducing Z3, it will create potential danger to Z10 market and that is why decided that Z3, which offers almost same experience with Z10 be introduce to replace Z10 in the market. It is also part of our strategy to focus more on the lower segment of the market in terms of pricing, yet with the same great experience.”
Announced for the first time at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Z3 has a 5″ screen, 8GBstorage, 5MP camera and 15.5 hours of talk time. It mostly resembles the Blackberry Z10 but it has a different casing.
The Blackberry Z3 is now available for purchase at authorized dealers, for a recommended retail price of N39,900.
