Innovation Village has partnered with Bits & Pretzels to avail founders and people from the startup ecosystem 10% discount to attend the Founders Festival taking place in Munich, Germany from the 25th – 27th of September, 2016.

Bits & Pretzels is a 3-day conference for founders, startup enthusiasts, investors and business incubators. The founders festival brings together the world’s leading entrepreneurs and investors to share their ideas on emerging technologies and trends in digital business. The best-known entrepreneurs from around the world as well as young aspiring entrepreneurs will meet at the event to mingle with like-minded people

Expect high quality speeches, exciting panel-discussions, startup-specific workshops, as well as unique matchmaking & networking opportunities, with a grand finale at the original Oktoberfest.

    Background

The history of Bits & Pretzels started in September 2014: At that time Andreas Bruckschlögl and Dr. Bernd Storm van’s Gravesande initiated it as a cosy Bavarian Weisswurst breakfast, with the goal to give the Munich startup ecosystem a platform to network, which later became the largest founders breakfast in the world and already took place at the “Löwenbräukeller“ in Munich twice. At the third edition in September 2015 the two founders, together with chairman Felix Haas, established a totally new event concept: Bits & Pretzels became a 3-day founders festival loaded with keynote speakers, discussions and an epic finale at the Oktoberfest on the last day of the event.

This is what happened in 2015

Day 1&2: Keynotes, Workshops, Startup Pitch & University

Bits & Pretzels will start off with two days of inspiring speakers and presentations from successful and influential founders from the digital world. Exiting workshops and panel discussions complete the program. The ultimate goal is to offer a wide range of target group specific topics for all attendees. Especially startups will be offered a well-balanced program through the Bits & Pretzels “startup university” with specific lectures for founders in the initial stage.

In addition, a new format for the startup pitch competition will be introduced: hundreds of startups compete on the startup pitch stage on the first day of the event. The winner will be chosen on the main stage during the big pitch final at the end of the second day. To facilitate networking for attendees, a new tool will be introduced as well as meeting areas where they can schedule appointments prior Bits & Pretzels 2016 Inspiring keynote speakers, exciting workshops and lots of networking to the event.

Day 3: Networking at the Oktoberfest

This year again the third day of Bits & Pretzels will take place at the Oktoberfest using the well-tried networking concept: attendees can choose in advance according to the “first-come-first-serve” principle the “Table Captain” they want to sit with. The Table Captains are renowned people from the startup ecoysystem, who will share their experience, ideas and advice with the attendees. Thus, the well-tried networking concept will facilitate bringing the participants together.

This year Ruth Fend (Editor in Chief Business Punk), Tobias Ragge (CEO Ragge), Jens Müffelmann (President Axel Springer USA), Florian Gschwandtner (Co-Founder Runtastic) und Sonja Schwetje (Editor in Chief n-tv) will be present amongst others.

    High-class national and international speakers

Last year’s line-up already promised an explosion of know-how and advice from well-known and successful entrepreneurs from around the world. Bits & Pretzels 2016 will build on this achievement and will bring together the most famous speakers in Munich.

Speakers this year include successful digital founders such as Nathan Blecharczyk (Co-Founder & CTO Airbnb), Mitchell Baker (Executive Chairwoman Mozilla), Steve Hafner (Co-Founder & CEO KAYAK), Riccardo Zacconi (Co-Founder & CEO King Digital Entertainment), Leila Janah (CEO Sama and Laxmi) and Valentin Stalf (Founder & CEO NUMBER26).

    Venue

The first two days (25th & 26th. September) will take place at the ICM (International Congress Munich) and the last day (27th September) will be at the Oktoberfest at the tent “Schottenhamel”
