Bioline Agrosciences, a biological control company based in North America that specializes in the production of predatory insects and mites, recently announced the purchase of Dudutech. Dudutech, a Kenyan biocontrol company, from British company Flamingo Group International (a World leading company in the manufacturing and sale of Cut Flowers, Fresh Vegetables, and Plants).

“This purchase is a significant move forward for Bioline, our agricultural subsidiary that is rapidly establishing itself as a global leader in biocontrol. It perfectly aligns with our goal of promoting the agricultural and food transition to a more resilient agrosystem through the use of creative and sustainable solutions and products.” said Thierry Blandinières, CEO of InVivo group.

“Flamingo, with its significant expanding services in Kenya and Ethiopia, will proceed to be using Integrated Crop Management solutions as a production strategy,” said Giles Turrell, CEO of the Flamingo Group, which supplies fresh cut flowers, plants, and products to leading UK and European supermarkets as well as digital retail networks.

Ludwick Pokorny – CEO, Bioline Agrosciences said “This is a unique opportunity to specialize in flower production by creating this partnership with the Flamingo Group and to bring our 40-year-old expertise on other crops in the region.”

“Therefore, it made sense for us to select Bioline Agrosciences as the future owner of Dudutech and preferred supplier. Our leading position in technology with a strong commitment to sustainable farming will ensure premium quality and innovative biocontrol solutions are widely available for our Group,” he added.

Laurent MARTEL, CEO of Bioline Group, stated that the company is continuing its internationalization efforts by establishing a presence in East Africa and that the new site in Kenya will serve as the catalyst for the company’s expansion in Africa to promote new environmentally friendly agricultural technologies.

Dudutech, a leader in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Africa, was founded in 2001 and had a wealth of experience in designing and delivering biological pest control solutions.

Bioline Agrosciences now has eight production sites worldwide (Europe, North America, and Africa) thanks to its new bio factory in Kenya.

According to Ludwik Pokorny, CEO of Bioline Agrosciences, “The biocontrol market is booming, and the acquisition of Dudutech will give us a leg up on the competition in terms of technical leadership and product diversity. By forming this partnership with the Flamingo Group, we will be able to specialize in flower production while also bringing our 40-year-old experience in other crops to the area.”

“This acquisition is a unique chance for us to consolidate our leading position in Africa, combining our technologies with the well-known brand and the extensive experience of Bioline Agrosciences,” Tom Mason, who is and will remain Managing Director of Dudutech, added.
