Amazon Web Services (AWS) has revealed the recipients of its 2024 Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP) Partner Awards during a ceremony on May 2nd in Johannesburg.
The AWS EEIP is a tailored program spanning 18 to 24 months, aimed at empowering South African black-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to scale their AWS practices.
The awards recognize AWS partners who have achieved outstanding performance throughout their participation in the program.
Chris Erasmus, the country manager for AWS, commented;
The awards ceremony was a pivotal moment for us to pause and honor our remarkable partners who are integral to the AWS Partner Network, which includes over 130,000 members worldwide. These partners have demonstrated remarkable growth, with an average revenue increase of 126%, and have been instrumental in generating employment opportunities for the youth in South Africa.
The AWS EEIP team has successfully integrated 27 local partners into the program since 2020.
