Autochek, a Nigerian automotive startup that has announced its expansion into Ghana’s capital, Accra. This move is to support the delivery of technology in one of the continent’s advanced auto markets.
Having acquired Checki Ghana in 2020, Autochek will be merging technology and data to create a single marketplace for car loans, car repairs and car sales in the country.
Now, lovers of automobiles in Ghana should be able to purchase cars and access car loans via their Authochek mobile app on Google play with the iOS version in development, and on their website as well. All cars listed are said to have gone through the 150-point inspection process.
Autocheck says it has brought onto its platform auto dealers and auto workshops who are able to rely on consistent leads that have been filtered to validate theirs interests.
Car owners are rest assured that they can also book maintenance or car repairs either in the app or on their website. The startup is doing well doing to build an ecosystem of solutions thatit hopes to provide an unrivalled customer experience.
According to the CEO and Co-Founder of Autochek, Etop Ikpe: “We are excited to be in Ghana and to be part of the ecosystem. The government is doing a lot of great work to support the automotive industry but there is also a need to make sure that vehicles meet a certain standard before they are bought or sold locally. This is where we hope to bring our expertise to create an effective and efficient marketplace for everybody.”
He went on to say that they have observe an increase in demand for technology enabled solutions as businesses and individuals respond to the COVID-19 global crisis and the uexhausting dificulties that it has come with.
For them, the technology-enabled approach will enable a better customer experience and facilitate transparency and ease of doing business, which will in turn result in an increase in transactions and more efficient business operations.
On her part, Yvonne Ahlie, Aucochek’s Head of Business Operations in Ghana, mentioned that, “The automotive industry in Ghana is one of the most advanced in Africa but there is still some work to be done, especially with regards to the day to day experience for consumers, dealers and workshops.”
Observing that, the fragmentation of the market tells that most players are operating in silos and are not able to see the full advantage of what the market has to offer.
Yvonne continued saying, there was also a dearth of comprehensive data that dealers and workshops who get onboard with Autochek can use to underpin business decisions and this they are certain is impacting their performance. Autochek sets itself apart in this manner by applying both data and technology to transform the automotive transaction ecosystem and also enabling excellence across the value chain.
Autochek hopefully by the end of 2022, aims to partner with more than 500 dealers and workshops on its platform across various cities in Ghana, thereby making it much easier for in the country to access the automotive services they need.
