This is the first time an organisation has gone this far to celebrate women in technology in Lagos. And I must say it is a beautiful initiative.
Techcabal’s is putting up a multi-sensory exhibition, AUDACITY, to profile 50 women in the Lagos technology ecosystem from different backgrounds and at different stages of their technology careers.
The exhibition comprises portrait photography, abstract art, sculptural, interactive and digital elements. It opened on the 16th of March, 2019 and is taking place at Africa Fintech Foundry, Victoria Island, Lagos. The exhibition continues on 17th, 23rd and 24th of March 2019.
Techcabal also created a website, Techwomenlagos, as part of the celebration. The website went up on the 8th of March 2019 to coincide with this year’s edition of the International Women’s Day.
Some of the women profiled include Adia Sowho, MD, Nigeria of Mines.io. , Dr Yinka David-West, an Academic Director at Lagos Business School and Omowale David-Ashiru, MD of Andela Nigeria. Click here to see the full list of women profiled.
Techcabal also partnered with leading technology companies to organise workshops and activities designed to engage and empower women with knowledge and insights to take their tech journeys to the next level.
