    The Aswan Bootcamp Series, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering entrepreneurs in Upper Egypt and supporting the region’s tech-driven growth, has been officially launched. The initiative was inaugurated by Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, during a launch event held at the Creativa Innovation Hub in Aswan. The Aswan Bootcamp Series is supported by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Plug and Play Egypt, and USAID.

    The primary goal of the Aswan Bootcamp Series is to enhance economic development in Upper Egypt by equipping startups with essential skills and services in market development, financial management, product-market fit, and scalability. The program aims to bridge resource and network gaps in Aswan’s emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem, positioning the region as a potential tech hub.

    The Aswan Bootcamp Series consists of five intensive eight-day in-person bootcamps designed to guide tech-enabled startups through a series of workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions with experienced mentors and founders. The program targets startups in various sectors, including agri-tech, health-tech, e-commerce, gov-tech, and tourism.

    Leveraging Plug and Play’s global network of experts, the bootcamp will support participants in key areas such as financial management, product-market fit, scalability, and commercialization. More than 60 startups are expected to gain the skills and knowledge needed for sustained growth and good governance.

    Following the bootcamp, founders will benefit from continued mentorship and networking opportunities with potential investors and experienced mentors. They will also gain exposure to Cairo’s established entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping them build a network that could lead to future collaborations and access to essential resources.

    Dr. Amr Talaat emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating;

    The Aswan Bootcamp Series represents a pivotal step in our efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Upper Egypt. By providing startups with the necessary tools and support, we aim to create a thriving tech ecosystem that will drive economic growth and development in the region.

    The Aswan Bootcamp Series is expected to have a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of Upper Egypt, empowering local startups to overcome challenges and seize opportunities in the tech industry. With the support of ITIDA, Plug and Play Egypt, and USAID, the program is set to play a crucial role in transforming Aswan into a vibrant regional tech hub.
