The ASIP Accelerator Programme, a programme focused on early-stage disruptive African tech startups, has officially opened applications for its newest cohort. Established by Telecel Group and powered by Startupbootcamp AfriTech, the programme aims to facilitate the growth and promotion of African tech startups in fintech, insurtech, agritech, eCommerce, healthtech, and cleantech sector.
Participating startups will be provided access to markets via Telecel’s mobile services, executive mentors, commercial contracts, and more. The overall aim is to help early-stage tech and telecom startups scale their business model. According to reports, the above-mentioned industry tech startups are referred to as the Internet Economy and are estimated to reach 5.2% of gross domestic product by 2025.
Telecel Group is a telecom firm established in 2007, very well recognized for the quality and effectiveness of the telecom solutions and services that they offer to a multitude of mobile network operators across the globe, in addition to owning networks of their own all across Africa. So the newly launched accelerator aims to recognise and assist early-stage African startups in the fields relating to telecom and technology.
The ASIP Accelerator Programme
Ten applicants will be selected to take part in the prestigious three-month programme. The programme will provide participants with access to expert-led masterclasses covering a range of topics such as; scaling business fundamentals, fundraising, and more.
In addition, the one-on-one premium mentorship provided by industry experts will further guide participating entrepreneurs to success along with a networking opportunity to connect with venture capitalists and angel investors from across the globe.
Successful startups will receive €15,000 in cash and have access to over €500,000 in exclusive partner deals from leading technology providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, HubSpot, and SendGrid, amongst others.
Participants will continue to receive support after the programme has ended as they will become members of the Alumni Growth Programme, offering access to alumni-only events, deals, and more.
