Female-owned bio-businesses (human/animal nutrition or health) from 12 African countries can now apply for the SANBio FemBioBiz Acceleration Competition which gives prospective applicants an opportunity to win up to US$18,000 in grant funding.
The competition invites applications from females managing an organisation in the biosciences space that intends to increase business growth, get training, and mentorship. It is opened to female entrepreneurs from South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Seychelles, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana and applications for the competition will close on April 15.
Entrepreneurs selected for participation will participate in a free two-day training course which will take place between April and June 2017 and receive marketing exposure and those chosen for the next phase will proceed to a 2-month intensive business mentorship and training.
At the end of the 2 months training course, the most outstanding female entrepreneur will receive a grant of US$18,000 and also attend the Slush conference in Finland.
