Applications open for female-led startups in South Africa and Kenya to join the RaiseReady program

Viridian, an impact agency known for creating and implementing programs for budding entrepreneurs, investors, and entrepreneur support organizations throughout Africa, is inviting female-led or female-centric startups in South Africa and Kenya to apply for the RaiseReady program.

This seven-week initiative is designed to streamline the process for founders to engage with African angel investors, enabling them to pitch, negotiate, and secure investments more efficiently and on equitable terms.

RaiseReady is an intensive program aimed at equipping founders with the essential skills, confidence, and resources necessary to finalize an angel investment deal. The program focuses on those who have already established a customer base and market presence, assisting them in navigating the final stages of acquiring angel funding.

Viridian clarifies that the program is not about teaching participants how to pitch or refine their business models, but rather about guiding them through the intricacies of the angel investment cycle. Founders will gain a comprehensive understanding of what to anticipate at each phase of the investment process and how to negotiate a deal that is fair for all parties involved.

The RaiseReady program will provide founders with insights on how to establish a valuation that aligns with market standards and how to prepare their deal room for potential angel investors. Throughout the program, participants will receive direct feedback from an angel investor and have their investment proposals circulated among active angels with an interest in their specific region or sector. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to showcase their startups at events organized by the African Angel Academy.

Viridian emphasizes that this program is specifically tailored for startups that have already validated their business model with customers, have a scalable and competitive edge, and possess a compelling investment proposition for angel investors.

Applications for the seven-week programme, which begins at the end of May, are open here.
