The African Business Angel Network (ABAN) and Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Startups (SAIS) have announced the opening of applications for the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network cohort.
ABAN is the largest pan-African organization of angel investors, while SAIS is a project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). SAIS offers a company development and accelerator program that includes an investment readiness program for agri-tech and climate-tech entrepreneurs.
In October, Innovation Village reported that ABAN and SAIS had partnered to launch the Climate Smart Agriculture Angel Investor Capacity Development (CAICD) program. This initiative aims to enhance the angel investment ecosystem in climate-smart agriculture.
Applications are now open for the first Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network cohort. The program is seeking dynamic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about advancing angel investing across Africa and interested in shaping the future of investing in climate-smart agriculture.
The program’s goal is to recruit business angels to join the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network and provide them with context-specific tools, training, and technical support to maximize their engagement and effectiveness. Key activities of the program will include training sessions, networking opportunities, venture showcases, and technical assistance.
Interested individuals can apply by filling out the application form by December 20.
