South African ed-tech incubator, Injini, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, has announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship. This fellowship is designed to support startups based in South Africa that are focused on enhancing education through innovative solutions.

Injini, established in 2017, is a member of the UVU Africa Group and operates as a registered non-profit organization. Its primary mission is to improve educational outcomes across Sub-Saharan Africa. As the only ed-tech specialized accelerator on the continent, Injini’s programs and research initiatives, conducted through the Injini Think Tank, are dedicated to increasing the quality, accessibility, and relevance of education in the region.

Innovation Village reported that Injini had partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to launch the EdTech Fellowship specifically for South African startups. Following the successful selection of a second cohort in April, applications are now open for the third cohort of the fellowship. This program offers participating startups a comprehensive package of support, including direct grant funding, product evaluation, customized market research, skills development, mentorship, and opportunities for market access.

The fellowship aims to empower startups by providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to scale their innovative educational solutions, ultimately contributing to the improvement of education in South Africa and beyond.

Interested ventures can apply here by December 8.
