The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is now accepting applications for its yearly tech entrepreneurship training initiative.
MEST, established in Ghana in 2008 by entrepreneur Jorn Lyseggen, is a pan-African programme that offers software and entrepreneurship training, seed funding, and incubation to launch technology startups across Africa.
Based in Accra, the sponsored 12-month programme assists entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into sustainable startups. The curriculum includes modules on software development, go-to-market strategies, sales tactics, UI/UX design, and communications, among other topics.
The training prepares potential entrepreneurs to present their startup ideas for funding and establish businesses based on software technology to solve local and global issues. Participants will receive extensive training and mentorship from industry veterans and global experts, with the potential to secure seed funding and incubation for their startups.
MEST has trained over 1,000 entrepreneurs and funded more than 90 startups across Africa, underscoring its impact. Emily Fiagbedzi, the director of the MEST Training Programme, emphasized that MEST’s mission is to empower the next generation of African tech innovators.
Applications are open here until March 18, with the programme commencing in August.
