    Application is Currently on for the 3rd Edition of FutureHack

    FutureHack is a national technology hackathon event, in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, domain experts (and others) collaborate intensively on software projects.

    FutureHack is an initiative of The Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE), a Subsidiary of the National Information Technology Development Agency’s (NITDA). FutureHack is designed to generate ideas (and prototypes) for the specified sector to drive Nigeria’s innovation and digital economy.

    FutureHack is a regional event, held at an academic environment to inculcate innovation and entrepreneurship culture in students. Participation is not limited to citizens within a region. All Nigerians in country and in diaspora are eligible to apply This year, 3 editions of the FutureHack challenge will be held in the North-Central, North-West and South-West .

    Categories

    • FutureHack, NORTH-CENTRAL will focus on eHealth
    • FutureHack, NORTH-WEST will focus on eAgriculture
    • FutureHack, SOUTH-WEST will focus on eEducation
    • GRID3 eHealth Dataset will be the main dataset

    Eligibility

    FutureHack organisers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the contest. Below are the eligibility criteria:

    • Participation from all backgrounds and genders are welcome.
    • You can come from any part of Nigeria to participate.
    • There is no age restriction to participate at the hackathon.
    • Your team must be solving problem in eHealth, eEducation, and eAgriculture sectors.
    • Each team must submit their presentation idea in pitch deck format and have no code changes by the given       deadline.
    • All team members should be present at the event and come with their own personal computers.

    Benefits

    • Incubation: 3-6 month of incubation of the idea to reality. This will include training, mentoring and workspace at an appropriate hub to nurture and transform the ideas into valuable products and services
    • Over N3 Million cash prize: Various cash prizes of over 3 million Naira are to be won by the Winners amidst other benefits
    • Business Opportunity: Possible partnership/collaboration with public institutions and other organizations to    implement and adopt their idea
    • Free IBM cloud license: IBM is offering free cloud services for the winners of the challenge
    • National/International exposure: Participants stand a chance to represent Nigeria at National and International events such as eNigeria and GITEX, Dubai
    •  Access to other Startup Incentives: All participants will be included in the NITDA Database for further Support.
