If you’re a serious tech collector with a million dollars lying around you wish to burn, you better grab your wallet for this vintage tech. The 1977 Apple-1 aka “the first Apple computer” is now up for auction. Although this isn’t the first time an Apple-1 has been up for sale but we all know any Apple-1 that hits the auction block is sure to bring in some serious heat, but this one definitely top the others.
Fundraising site Charitybuzz has one up for grabs on its site, which is the “most unique, and quite possibly the first, Apple-1 ever created” is currently going for $500,000 with an estimated value of a $1,000,000 and with 3 days left to bid.
According to Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, no known PCB boards of this type were ever sold to the public,” the listing reads. “At this time, this is the only known Apple-1 to show the signs of starting out as a blank original-run board and not part of the two known production runs, so this board appears to be unique from all other known Apple-1 boards.”
Well, this is probably why this particular piece of vintage hardware is extremely rare and going for such an amount. Guess you definitely can call yourself a hardcore Apple fan if you own one of these.
