Rewound is a music player recently launched on the Apple store by an independent developer that capitalizes on the iPod nostalgia.
Rewound, which was released a week ago, has a theme feature that makes a user’s iPhone look uncannily similar to an iPod Classic.
The app quickly amassed more than 170,000 + users, however, Apple was not a fan.
Apple has pulled Rewound from its app store claiming it has copied the iPod design, and that it is charging for Apple Music features.
Apple adds that users could mistake Rewound for an Apple product.
Rewound explained in a blog post that its product had a basic interface that looked nothing like an Apple app.

Rewound argued that the iPod Classic skins are not pre-installed alongside the app. Users had to download them separately after installing the app.
Rewound claims its iOS app cannot be update without the app crashing for all the users.
Rewound’s developer, Louis Anslow, has set up a GoFundMe page for people to support further development of the app.
Anslow says he will “try some tweaks to get Rewound resubmitted”.
He adds that the funds from the crowdfunding campaign will be channeled towards developing a web and Android version of Rewound.
